MacKenzie King are excited to be recruiting a Supply Chain Accountant for a successful and growing manufacturing business, based near Woolpit. As part of continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Supply Chain Accountant to join their finance team in a newly created and highly commercial role.
This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant who enjoys working closely with operational teams, analysing data, and helping drive business performance through meaningful financial insight.
As a Supply Chain Accountant you’ll act as a key business partner to Procurement and Supply Chain teams, supporting decision making through analysis, forecasting, costing and performance reporting.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Managing and developing the standard costing process.
- Analysing product costs and identifying key cost drivers.
- Monitoring purchase price variances and investigating trends.
- Supporting inventory accounting, stock control and reconciliation activities.
- Providing analysis on freight and logistics costs.
- Partnering with procurement and supply chain stakeholders to improve performance and profitability.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and working capital planning.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operational processes.
- Attending operational and planning meetings to provide financial insight and challenge.
Qualifications and experience
- Part-qualified or recently qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Experience in management accounting, financial analysis or business partnering.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large, complex datasets.
- An analytical mindset with the ability to investigate variances and identify root causes.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across non-finance functions.
- Previous exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, logistics or inventory environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
