The first thing you’ll notice about MacKenzie King is that we genuinely care about making the right match. There’s nothing more rewarding than knowing that we’ve helped a candidate secure that perfect job or found an employer someone who’ll excel in their role. In our experience, this very rarely happens by chance. It takes skill, commitment, great communication, and amongst many other things, passion.

Cheryl Voller

Co-owner and Director

Cheryl set up MacKenzie King in late 2011, with a view to offering a tailored, honest and genuine approach to accountancy and finance recruitment across Suffolk and North Essex.

Having moved from the North West in the early nineties, she spent 16 years working for the UK’s largest specialist recruitment business and has always concentrated on local finance recruitment, at all levels, for both permanent and temporary positions. As a result, she has an enviable network of clients and candidates who she has worked with over many years. As a Regional Director for the business, she was responsible for 13 offices across Essex and East Anglia. Fast forward to today, at MacKenzie King, Cheryl is still heavily involved in recruitment and recruits for all qualified roles and senior appointments. This allows her to still spend most of her time interacting with clients and candidates, which she thoroughly enjoys.  

In her spare time, Cheryl looks forward to holidays and enjoys going to the gym. She has lived in Suffolk for over 25 years now and is almost a local although there is still a definite northern accent there somewhere.

Catherine Vickery

Co-owner and Director

Catherine studied CIMA and spent five years working as a Management Accountant for a FTSE 100 business before joining the world of accountancy and finance recruitment in 2005. During her time working for the largest specialist recruiter in the UK, she managed various teams throughout Suffolk and headed up their Senior Finance Division. Today, Catherine recruits senior management, senior finance and board level roles. Her extensive network of professional advisors, candidates and clients, coupled with her finance and business experience ensures she delivers a valuable recruitment offering to the local accountancy and finance industry. She takes great pride in her work, ensuring that she gets to know her candidates and clients well and treats them as individuals.

Out of working hours, Catherine enjoys a hectic family life with her husband and two young children. She enjoys running for fitness and has raised over £1000 for her last charity race where she achieved a personal best time, something she hopes to beat again this coming year! For fun, you’ll find Catherine socialising with friends over a glass of wine or two.

Stephanie Capstick

Recruitment Manager

Stephanie joined us in 2019 after graduating from UCLan with a first-class degree in Psychology with Psychotherapy and Counselling. She came to us with 10 years’ experience in customer service and that is reflected in her genuine approach to recruitment. People are at the heart of what we do and Stephanie takes the time to get to know what matters the most to each individual; always aiming to build long standing relationships with those she speaks to.  

Stephanie recruits both temporary and permanent non-qualified accountancy & finance opportunities throughout Ipswich and its surrounding areas. Her unwavering determination and success naturally launched her into the position of Recruitment Manager. Stephanie understands how to nurture and develop people which makes her the perfect mentor for our ‘non-qual’ team. 

Out of work you’ll find her in the gym training to take on her next challenge; the last being a 15km Tough Mudder and the next being the Ipswich Half Marathon. She is happiest when socialising with friends and exploring somewhere new with her other half.

Ben Dotesio-Eyers

Recruitment Specialist

After completing his Degree in Business at the University of Suffolk Ben joined MacKenzie King in 2021. With previous experience in recruitment and customer service, he has found great pleasure in developing relationships with clients and candidates in and around the Bury St. Edmunds area.

Outside of work Ben enjoys all things automotive and is an active member of several local and national groups. When he isn’t in the garage he can normally be found in a country pub relaxing with his two sausage dogs.

Liberty Clough

Recruitment Specialist

Liberty joined Mackenzie King in 2022, fresh after graduating from the University of Essex with a first class BSc honours in Politics and International Relations. With her warm and friendly personality, hardworking attitude, and considerable experience in customer service, we’re proud to have her on board looking after our clients and candidates in the North Essex area.

In her spare time, she’s super creative and uses her talents to produce her own fine art paintings that we absolutely love. She also enjoys an active lifestyle walking her dog Bailey, going to the gym and participating in equestrian sports. We don’t know where she gets all her energy from!

Miranda Deex

Administration and Marketing Assistant

With a solid administrative career history, including recruitment industry experience, Miranda has us covered! Every day she comes in excited about the highly varied tasks and projects that she’s given to manage, including our brand refresh. As a creative thinker, she’s also continually developing her marketing skills to communicate our value. 

Working part-time around her ‘busy mum life’ with her two sons, Miranda also loves spending time with family and friends. In any rare spare time, she enjoys travelling, going to concerts and West End shows, or more locally you will find her seeking adventure outdoors and enjoying some good food at a local pub.

Stacy Barr

Accountant

Joining MacKenzie King with almost 18 years’ experience in accountancy, Stacy is a perfect addition to our growing team. As a fully qualified accountant (AAT and ACCA), she has just the right experience and knowledge, having worked both in practice and inhouse at several businesses. The thing she enjoys most about her role is that no two days are the same. She enjoys a challenge and is always happy to help!

Outside of work, when she’s not immersed in numbers, she’s quite the creative. As a crafty, we love the keepsakes she makes. Family is really important to Stacy. She loves nothing more than spending time with her husband and three young children. She’s also one for social events and activities. She’ll always be the first one we ask, ‘what did you do this weekend?’. The answer ranges from the horse races, murder mystery parties to escape rooms.
