MacKenzie King are excited to be recruiting a Senior Accounts Assistant for a specialist, industry leading business, based on the outskirts of Woodbridge. As a Senior Accounts Assistant you will support the Group Financial Controller in the efficient running of the Accounts function. You will play a key role in ensuring the accounts office functions are kept effectively in line with both senior management and customer’s expectations.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Purchase ledger duties to include: coding and posting of purchase invoices, payments, account maintenance and statement reconciliations
- Sales ledger duties to include: raising invoices, account opening and maintenance, customer receipts, credit control and reviewing credit limits
- Answering customer and supplier telephone and email enquiries
- Entering bank payments, receipts and performing bank reconciliations
- Reviewing and preparing VAT returns (monthly and quarterly)
- Expense claims
- Any other ad hoc accounts duties arising from the accounts function
Qualifications and experience
- Experience of working in a similar role within a multi-enterprise environment
- High level of attention to detail required
- A good understanding of Sage 50 accounting system
- Good working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Good communication skills
- Ability to interpret numbers and financial information
