Mackenzie King and are working with a local award-winning business to recruit a new Purchase Ledger Clerk into their expanding team. The successful Purchase Ledger Clerk candidate will be someone who can work in a fast paced, high-volume environment and maintain a high level of accuracy while moving with pace to keep ahead of the workload. The role of Purchase Ledger Clerk would suit either an experienced clerk with a proven track record in purchase ledger or a more junior candidate with the right attitude to learn and develop themselves with the support of the team.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Ensuring all elements within the purchase to pay process is administered and maintained in a complete, accurate and timely manner
- Ensuring that the supplier bank detail entry process is complete prior to payment
- Posting supplier invoices onto the purchase ledger
- Matching supplier invoices to purchase orders and resolving all discrepancies
- Ensuring disputed invoices are placed on hold and releasing upon resolution
- Ensuring all payments are posted onto the ledger and are matched to an invoice
- Ensure invoices are downloaded from supplier online accounts
- Ensuring all coding to the nominal ledger is accurate
- Creating proposed supplier payment runs and sending remits to suppliers
- Obtaining refunds from suppliers for any account credits
- Assisting with bank reconciliations
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Responding to supplier queries
- Other ad hoc duties
Qualifications and experience
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven ability to manage and prioritise a high volume workload
- A dedication to meet deadlines
- A good understanding of MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Highly organised
- Ability to investigate and resolve issues
- Ability to work as a team
