Mackenzie King are proud to be recruiting a Part-Time Management Accountant for one of Suffolk's award-winning specialist food producers. Since being founded in the early 2000 the business has gone from strength to strength and is now a staple of the UK as well as the wider global market. The successful applicant will report to the Commercial Director and manage, administer and maintain the Company’s accounts.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • The efficient preparation of profit & loss reports and general ledger management
  • Prepare Month End accounts and journals to include prepayments and accruals within deadlines
  • Review and consolidate weekly time and attendance data for payroll bureau and post weekly payroll journals
  • To ensure the maintenance of effective and rigorous controls over all processes through the management of control accounts and the timely review of open items
  • To provide commercial and management information on all aspects of the business, with analysis, highlighting key areas for cost savings, productivity enhancement and improvements
  • Preparing and maintaining cash flows, balance sheets and profit projections
  • The preparation of the year end accounts
  • Maintaining fixed asset register
  • Project work on an ad hoc basis

Qualifications and experience

  • Strong IT skills including an advanced working knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Good communicator with the ability to build and develop relationships
  • Works well as part of a team
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Can work to deadlines
