MacKenzie King are recruiting an interim part time Finance Manager 2 days a week to join a business based in the Witham area . As the interim part time Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the finance function. You will produce accurate and insightful management information to assist in decision making. This opportunity will start on an interim basis with a likelihood of developing into a permanent position. The salary advertised is for the full time equivalent, meaning the actual salary will be pro rata down to the 2 days
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Manage internal financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems.
- Manage budgets and prepare forecasting reports.
- Analyse financial reports and present findings to the board.
- Supervise financial reporting and budgets.
- Review company financial reports and seek ways to reduce costs.
- Identify risks, propose solutions and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Research and report on business performance influences.
- Prepare and present statutory accounts to Trial Balance Level.
- Prepare all payroll, VAT and HMRC returns & Weekly Cashflow Forecasts.
- Manage the purchase and sales ledger.
- Responsibility for accounts receivable and payable ledgers.
- Prepare monthly accruals, prepayments and accounting entries.
- Manage audit processes of current systems in preparation to send to the Accountants.
- Monitor financial details to ensure legal requirements are met.
Qualifications and experience
- Minimum AAT level 4 qualified
- Experience of Sage is advantageous
- Strong leadership skills to motivate and manage teams effectively
- Good problem solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments
