MacKenzie King are excited to be recruiting a commercially minded Management Accountant for an established, highly successful manufacturing business, based near Woolpit. This Management Accountant role is a highly visible role that partners closely with operations, providing financial insight to support decision-making across multiple sites and production functions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Management Accountant who enjoys getting out into the business, building strong relationships with non-finance stakeholders, and playing a key role in driving operational and financial performance.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Production of monthly management accounts across multiple cost centres.
- Ownership of month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments and financial analysis.
- Business partnering with operational teams and senior management to improve financial understanding and accountability.
- Providing financial reporting, analysis and insight to support the Operations Director and wider leadership team.
- Attending regular production and operational meetings, challenging performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Monitoring inventory levels, analysing stock movements and identifying stock-related risks.
- Reviewing standard costing, bills of materials and process orders to ensure cost accuracy and financial control.
- Supporting inventory valuation, stock reconciliations and cost of sales reporting.
- Visiting sites regularly to develop relationships, understand operational challenges and provide meaningful financial support.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operational processes.
Qualifications and experience
- Qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, production or FMCG environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting, standard costing, bills of materials and stock control processes.
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
