MacKenzie King are delighted to be recruiting a Management Accountant for a well-established business in Woolpit. Reporting into senior finance leadership, the successful candidate will take ownership of the month end process, support business performance, and oversee the day to day transactional accounting function.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Produce monthly management accounts providing commentary
- Lead month-end processes, including reconciliations, accruals and journals
- Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management activities
- Monitor financial performance and provide insightful analysis to support decision-making
- Ensure robust financial controls and compliance with relevant regulations
- Undertake day-to-day transactional duties, including purchase ledger and sales ledger
- Support payroll, VAT and other statutory reporting requirements
- Work closely with stakeholders across the business to provide financial insight and challenge
- Assist with audit requirements and year-end activities
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting
- Support ongoing systems developments and wider finance projects
Qualifications and experience
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA full/part or qualified preferred, AAT qualified essential
- Experience preparing management accounts and supporting month-end processes
- Understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and financial reporting
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across the business
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Experience working within a fast-paced commercial environment
- Proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
- Comfortable working with finance systems and Excel
