MacKenzie King are delighted to be recruiting a Management Accountant for a well-established and respected business in Colchester. As a Management Accountant, you’ll play a pivotal part in both day-to-day transactional finance and the preparation of management accounts, contributing to the continued success of a business built on strong values.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow
- Analyse financial performance and provide insights to support decision-making
- Assist with year-end processes and liaise with external accountants
- Processing supplier invoices and payments
- Managing customer invoicing and credit control
- Bank reconciliations and posting transactions
- Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers
- Support the development of financial systems and processes
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis as required
Qualifications and experience
- Previous experience in a similar accounting role
- Strong understanding of management accounts and transactional finance
- Proficient with finance systems and good Excel knowledge
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Part-qualified or qualified by experience
