MacKenzie King are recruiting a Management Accountant to join a large and quickly evolving business, based in Ipswich. As a Management Accountant you will be a key player within the finance team and report directly to the Group Financial Controller. You will be responsible for consolidating financial results of the Group on a monthly basis, including commentary to explain the underlying trends and variances against budget. You will work with the Group Financial Controller and other Management Accountants to produce financial reporting for submission to key stakeholders and investors.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial results.
- Prepare consolidated monthly management accounts and financial pack.
- Deliver ad-hoc financial reports to support evolving business needs.
- Line manage and mentor a trainee accountant, offering support and feedback to help continuously improve the team.
- Maintain strong relationships with auditors and support the delivery of a clean, efficient audit process.
- Produce clear and insightful reporting for internal and external stakeholders
- Continuously refine finance processes, procedures, and systems to enhance efficiency and control.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline reporting and reconciliation activities.
- Review and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant Accounting Standards.
- Ensure robust internal controls are in place and adhered to across finance operations.
Qualifications and experience
- ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified
- Have experience of external audit
- Possess a strong understanding of Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail, with a strong focus on self-review
- Strong numeracy, analytical and literacy skills
- Good teamwork, problem solving and organisation skills
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach
