MacKenzie King are excited to be recruiting a Management Accountant to join an ambitious Woodbridge based business. As a Management Accountant you will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, maintaining financial controls and managing a transactional team of 3.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly Management accounts for business units and group consolidated accounts, including detailed analysis.
  • Partnering with key personnel to understand primary cost & revenue drivers and variances.
  • Daily liaison with operational and commercial management to understand costs and to provide both challenge and support of financial forecasts & budgets.
  • Completion of ongoing financial reviews with division heads outlining and highlighting budget differences and variances.
  • Monitor and report on planned product profitability against actual profitability, by channel, customer, and promotion.
  • Month end journals and calculations for accruals, prepayments and various provisions.
  • Improve stock performance with timely analysis including stock turnover, profitability, sale or return rates, damages, and obsolescence.
  • Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the Group’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
  • Analysis of production work in progress ensuring that jobs are completed in line with production budgets and providing variance analysis.
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial information for management and board pack for group board meetings.
  • Prepare month end KPI reviews.
  • VAT Return completion with full reconciliation.
  • Completion of forecasting and annual budgeting.
  • Oversee annual audit and liaise with group’s auditors.
  • Control of group banking and financing activities, including overseeing group invoice discounting facilities and delivering weekly short/medium term cash forecasts.
  • Ad hoc duties as required.

Qualifications and experience

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
  • Strong analytical and numerical abilities and a deep understanding of accounting principles.
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience in Sage Intacct or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and attention to detail
  • Flexible and able to adapt to busy periods with a proactive and positive attitude
  • Self-motivated and ability to use initiative
  • Ambitious and keen to learn
  • A professional attitude towards business practise
