MacKenzie King are looking for an Interim Accountant to join a global business for a minimum of 12 months to look after accounting operations for the organisation’s international subsidiaries. This role is remote without the requirement to go into an office at any point throughout the assignment, so applicants from anywhere in the UK are welcome.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Work closely with a local accountant and the US-based corporate accounting team to ensure well-documented, accurate and timely financial closings, including all Journals and appropriate month end Balance Sheet reconciliation and P&L variance analysis.
- Build and maintain scalable processes for, and accuracy of, international payroll, commissions, and invoicing.
- Assist in the international impact of new US-based accounting standards and regulations.
- Post-close integration of acquired companies into our uniform international accounting operations as well as our US-based corporate ERP system and ancillary platforms.
- Partner with the international Financial Planning & Analysis team in establishing budgets, forecasts, and reporting for all international subsidiaries.
- Coordinate with external auditors during the annual statutory audits to insure timely and accurate filings.
- Assist during the annual corporate audit with any international requests of documentation and testing.
- Evaluate and manage appropriate revenue and cost sharing arrangements between international operating subsidiaries.
Key Skills & Experience
- Accounting degree or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience in operational accounting as AP or AR and / or exposure to basic accounting as double entries and trial balance.
- Software company experience is required, and any experience of SAAS and cloud-based companies is a plus.
- Work experience for a subsidiary of a US-based parent company is a plus.
- Accounting qualification student preferred.
- Experience in working in a multinational environment.
- Project management skills – ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects from start to finish.
- Ability to multi-task and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills; attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Outstanding oral and written communications abilities.
