Are you an experienced finance leader looking for a high-impact role within a dynamic and growing organisation? We are seeking a Head of Finance for a 9 month fixed term contract to lead a team of accounting professionals in delivering high-quality financial and management reporting.
As the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing all key finance functions for our UK companies, ensuring efficient service delivery, compliance, and continuous improvement. You will play a critical role in financial reporting to the Group, implementing robust controls, and driving strategic initiatives, including process automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a large team of finance professionals, including four direct reports, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting, including month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Delivery of Management Accounting and Financial Accounting activities through strong foundations of Balance Sheet control.
- Ensure compliance with Group Accounting Policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
- Manage external relationships ensuring transparency and credibility.
- Drive process efficiency and quality improvements, including cost centre/revenue planning and compliance with financial targets.
- Oversee process documentation, internal control effectiveness, and compliance audits.
- Serve as the primary finance contact, building strong relationships with key stakeholders to deliver exceptional accounting solutions.
- Lead project management for client transitions into the shared service framework.
- Support the roll-out of robotic process automation, identifying key processes for automation and efficiency gains.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Accountant with significant post-qualification experience.
- Proven track record in a senior finance role, with experience managing teams.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with financial reporting requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently while driving collaboration across teams.
