MacKenzie King are looking for a Financial Accountant on a 12-month fixed term contract to join a global business, based in Ipswich. As a Financial Accountant you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and submission of external reports in accordance with reporting timetables, ensuring full compliance with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly results, the submission of management accounts and commentaries in accordance with reporting timetable
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of statutory accounts and quarterly returns
  • Analyse and report on variances between actual and budget/forecast
  • Maintenance and control of the general ledgers
  • Responsible for processing & controlling of revenue and expenses
  • Responsible for general ledger postings and for the production of trial balances
  • Ensure general ledger is reconciled on quarterly basis and can be supported by third party evidence
  • Liaising with external auditors during interim and year end audits
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with key business contacts
  • Support the US Finance Team with general ledger reconciliations and internal reporting

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Part qualified Accountant or equivalent level of competence with good accounting knowledge
  • Financial and management reporting experience
  • A motivated individual with good inter-personal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
  • Sound knowledge of relevant IT software packages including Excel/Word
  • Good organisation skills, pays attention to detail, and delivers accurate and quality work
  • Able to prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are met
  • Ability to resolve problems efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to work well within a team and on own initiative
