MacKenzie King are excited to be recruiting a Finance Manager for a values-led and ambitious business, based in North Colchester. Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in providing relevant and timely financial and management information to meet the ever-growing needs of the business. The successful Finance Manager will be a confident individual with the ability to take a hands-on approach for accounting/reporting across the business and drive the necessary changes to current processes and procedures to deliver succinct and timely management reporting and analysis.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monthly management accounts preparation, ensuring commentary on variances is accurate and useful. This will include evaluating, interpreting and investigating the cause of any variances.
  • Preparation and reporting to budgets and forecasts, working with the management team to interrogate and challenge their financial performance.
  • Design, implement and maintain KPI dashboards to support decision making.
  • Responsible for addressing queries from the leadership team including producing ad hoc analysis.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve the performance of the finance function and internal controls through the evaluation and optimisation of processes.
  • Ensure accounting records are maintained on a timely and accurate basis within the finance system.
  • Maintenance of cash flow forecast to support the business.
  • Provide financial information to the leadership team to enable them to achieve objectives.
  • Develop and mentor two direct reports.

 

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA), qualified by experience will be considered
  • Experience in product-based SMEs
  • Strong management accounting, cost control, and stock accounting skills
  • Confident presenting financials to both directors and managers
  • Strong communicator - patient, clear, and able to adapt your style
  • People manager with process improvement mindset
  • Ability to be hands-on and get into the detail
