MacKenzie King are recruiting a Finance Manager to join a respectable organisation, based in Ipswich, that gives back to the local community. As a Finance Manager your responsibilities will include overseeing end-to-end finance operations, financial planning and analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations. This opportunity will suit a Finance Manager with excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with strong knowledge of Excel and accounting software.  

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Produce timely and accurate management financial information.
  • To prepare budgets and forecasts along with ongoing variance reports.
  • Provide analysis and insight into the organisation's performance, identifying areas of improvement to support objectives.
  • Undertake planning and forecast analysis so that Senior Management and Trustees are able to provide timely governance for the organisation.
  • To support business projects including implementation and cost comparison reports.
  • To ensure credit control solutions are accurate including invoicing and debt collection.
  • Collate monthly payroll information in a timely manner including overtime/ deductions/ mileage and expenses ensuring all timescales are met.
  • Excellent knowledge of PAYE, NI, SSP. SMP, SPP paramount, as is an ability to manage end-to-end payroll function.
  • Enrol and manage the company pension scheme.
  • File VAT returns and understand partial exemption rules.
  • Update restricted grant balance spreadsheet for income and expenditure.
  • Be central point of contact for Auditors and manage Audit from the organisation's perspective.
  • Report to the CEO on all financial matters.
  • Confidentiality and GDPR awareness are paramount.
  • Continuous development of financial procedures and controls to ensure operational efficiency.
  • To ensure effective strategic and operational planning, monitoring and reporting to ensure that the organisation complies with all statutory and external requirements and regulations for financial, administrative and social enterprise functions.
  • To provide Trustees and CEO with all information and guidance necessary for them to set policies for governance and to monitor the performance of the organisation.
  • To work effectively with senior management with an emphasis on ‘what's best’ for the organisation.

Qualifications and experience

  • AAT Qualified with ambitions to study further (ACCA/CIMA)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • 5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
