MacKenzie King are excited to be recruiting a Finance Assistant for an Ipswich based professional services business that we have worked with for a number of years. As a Finance Assistant you will support the Operational Finance function in the processing of funds including posting to ledger systems, making payments and reconciliation work. 

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Preparation of client billing reports used as part of the wider billing process.
  • Daily preparation of client cashbooks.
  • Daily reconciliation of bank to the system.
  • Daily clearing client suspense accounts.
  • Investigating and responding to client and internal queries.
  • Preparation, input and checking of transfers and payments.
  • Payment of invoices, delivering remittance information and investigating queries.
  • Preparation of Financial Reporting Packs and general ledger reports to clients for use in their own account records & statutory reporting.
  • Preparation of investor reports to Trustees & other 3rd parties as required.
  • Calculation and initiation of daily transfer of investor cash for structured finance deals.
  • Assist with audit queries.
  • To prepare daily BACS reports.
  • Adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Meeting all applicable SLAs.
  • A professional attitude must always be maintained.
  • Contributing, on behalf of the Operational Finance Team, in internal changes, cross-team and external client related change projects.

Qualifications and experience

  • Studying towards AAT.
  • High level of accuracy and numeracy.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic accounting concepts.
  • A good ability to interpret written, spoken and numerical data.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality, and accuracy.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Aptitude to multitask and be highly adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • A desire to learn and take on new systems and concepts quickly as well as critically evaluating where appropriate.
