MacKenzie King are excited to be recruiting a Finance Analyst to join an international company that are a leader in their field. This role will manage accruals and reconciliations through strong communication skills and proactive risk management. The ideal candidate will be an organised and adaptable individual, with a problem-solving mentality, that can manage large volumes of data, work to different processing schedules and can represent the business in answering related queries.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Ensure that the basic accounting concepts of revenue recognition and matching are adhered to.
  • Calculating monthly accruals and regular statements for aspects across Europe.
  • Carry out monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Process invoices, payments, and calculations in a timely & accurate manner.
  • Monitor advanced payments to ensure they will be fully recouped in the contract term. Flag any risk early, ensuring that any balance sheet positions can be always supported.
  • Work in partnership with your Manager to ensure contracts are understood by the relevant stakeholders, and that systems data is maintained. Provide a professional response to queries from external parties on contracts and payments.
  • Assist heavily with Audits
  • Work with teams across Europe to understand future income streams, with regular budget meetings and appraisal of performance, timings, phasing, and balance of year commitments.
  • Support the FP&A Manager & Financial Controller in the annual budgeting processing, taking a lead role in modelling the impact on sales budgets.
  • Support the FP&A Manager on the production of rolling forecasts for P&L, BS & Cashflow, building out from our existing model into a model that is fit for multi-user input, strengthening integrity and accuracy of data.
  • Work with the Financial Controller to continually highlight control weaknesses and resolution by either process improvements or technical development, with a particular focus on dataflow through the ERP from capture to processing, storing and output.

Qualifications and experience

  • AAT Qualified
  • 1-2 years’ experience working as part of a Finance function with involvement in calculating accruals, cashflow forecasting activities and carrying our balance sheet reconciliations
  • Able to identify and implement improvements to systems and processes
  • Experience in a “front-facing” role where you represented the business to external parties, answering queries and providing an explanation of processes (for example, customers, auditors)
  • Proactive and effective communicator, adapting communication approach to enable effective collaboration and relationship building with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Organising, maintaining, and analysing high volumes of transactional data
  • Takes a methodical and holistic approach to data analysis, engaging with a variety of stakeholders to highlight the current risks and opportunities of the situation
  • Intermediate Excel; pivot tables, sumif, indexmatch, vlook-up etc
  • Organising data across a wide range of systems
