MacKenzie King are currently recruiting a Credit Manager for a highly reputable, regional law firm based in Colchester. Reporting into the Head of Finance you will manage the firms WIP and Debt profile whilst driving forward initiatives to reduce lock up.
Create collection programmes to maximise receipts and manage overdue debt.
- Regularly meet with Fee Earners to discuss and review their outstanding WIP
- Create and maintain fee earner engagement and cooperation in the billing and collection programmes to pre empt issues before they arise.
- Administer the Creditforce software and develop the event driven reporting technology to create early warning exception reports.
- Automate internal and external document processing.
- Management of a Credit Controller
- Circulate reports to ensure Management and Partners are continually aware of the debt/WIP position and escalate issues to the appropriate Head of Department as they arise.
- Manage the pre- legal action process and liaise with the in house debt collection team to ensure appropriate legal action is taken where necessary.
- Work with the Finance Management Team to actively manage the Departments profile, resource and output.
You will ideally have Law Firm experience or have worked in an industry where you have dealt with client monies. You will have managed people before and enjoy coaching and mentoring and have the ability to initiate and develop innovative solutions to problems. Strong analytical and numerical skills are also a pre requisite.
