Assistant Management Accountant (6 Month FTC)

MacKenzie King are recruiting an Assistant Management Accountant on a 6-month fixed term contract, to join an established and growing business in the Colchester area. This role supports the wider finance team and is ideal for someone with previous experience in a varied accounting position who is confident working to month end deadlines.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts
- Support month end processes including postings, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
- Review general ledger entries and flag discrepancies
- Process and review corporate expenses, petty cash and credit card spend
- Assist in maintaining fixed asset records and capital expenditure reporting
- Provide cost analysis and supporting schedules as needed
- Support internal and external reporting requirements
- Provide cover for bank posting and transaction allocation tasks
- Contribute to revenue reporting
- Support with routine financial administration and ad hoc tasks
Qualifications and experience
- Experience in a similar finance or accounting role, ideally with month end exposure
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident communicator with good interpersonal skills
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
- Studying AAT, CIMA or ACCA (or equivalent)
