MacKenzie King are excited to be partnering with one of our long standing and trusted clients to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their supportive team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous experience in a similar Accounts Assistant role and a strong grounding in transactional finance. You will be confident with tasks such as bank reconciliations, cashflow reporting, invoice processing and preparing and completing payment runs. The role suits someone who enjoys working independently while also contributing positively to the wider team. As an Accounts Assistant you will play an active part in supporting colleagues and helping with shared responsibilities across the group.

Key tasks and responsibilities

Purchase Ledger

  • Capture, code and process supplier invoices.
  • Maintain supplier statements and resolve routine supplier queries.
  • Process employee expenses and company credit card transactions.
  • Ensure appropriate approvals are obtained prior to invoices being paid.
  • Prepare Purchase Ledger payment runs, ensuring correct coding, documentation and approval flow before submission for review.

Cashbooks & Banking

  • Prepare cashbooks for review.
  • Assist with banking duties, including posting a range of receipts and ensuring accurate coding.
  • Complete daily cashbook management and reconciliations.

Sales Ledger Support

  • Perform sales order checks prior to conversion
  • Assist with raising simple ad‑hoc or supplementary invoices.

Finance Administration Support (shared responsibility)

  • Triage the shared Accounts inbox and route items appropriately.
  • Perform filing, scanning, post handling, document control and bank statement downloads.

Cross‑Team Support

  • Provide cover across routine operational processes when required.
  • Assist Senior AA during month‑

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience working as part of a Finance team
  • Ability to follow SOPs and support development of processes
  • Good Excel capability (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, etc)
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Pro-active & flexible attitude with the ability to work to timetables and meet deadlines
