MacKenzie King are currently recruiting an Accounting Controller for a global financial services business based in Ipswich. Reporting into the Head of Central Accounting Services you will manage a team in the provision of services with a strong emphasis on timely service, professionalism, efficiency and productivity to ensure the local Finance teams receive reliable and accurate information for reporting. The Central Accounting Services team provides transversal accounting services to the businesses entities and portfolios in the UK, the US, France and Switzerland.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Vendor invoices and employees expenses are paid in line with agreed terms
- All general ledger processing is accurate and timely
- Complete and accurate accounting records are maintained
- Effective financial controls are in place
- Management expenses are monitored and controlled in line with budget and strategc plan
- Financial reporting for the business is compliant with all statutory and regulatory requirements
Qualifications and experience
- This role requires the job holder to have strong technical accounting knowledge to act as a technical reference point for accounting queries.
- Good management and organisation skills are essential to ensure the team works together to meet all accounting and reporting deadlines.
- You will ideally be a qualified accountant or equivalent with experience in financial reporting/ management accounting environment.
- Sound knowledge of IFRS accounting and experience within the insurance industry
- Good understanding of processes and relevant IT software packages and applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues across cultures
