MacKenzie King are excited to be recruiting a Part Qualified / Qualified Accountant to join a well-established accountancy practice on the outskirts of Maldon. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop their career within a supportive and professional environment. The successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries, providing a high standard of accounting, tax, and advisory services whilst building strong client relationships.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients across a variety of industries
- Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Prepare management accounts and financial reports
- Complete personal and corporate tax returns
- Support clients with bookkeeping and VAT returns
- Act as a key point of contact for client queries and day-to-day support
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients
- Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients where required
- Ensure all accounting and tax deadlines are met accurately and on time
- Provide clients with financial insight and business support
- Assist with mentoring and supporting junior members of the team
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and add value to clients
Qualifications and experience
- ACA / ACCA part qualified or qualified
- Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance
- Competent using cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- A proactive and client-focused approach
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is beneficial
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
