Purchase Ledger Clerk

MacKenzie King are recruiting a Purchase Ledger Clerk for an innovative and forward thinking business, based on the outskirts of Colchester. Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will play an integral part in a small Finance team.

Duties & Responsibilities Include:

  • Processing of all purchase invoices onto the companies accounts system ensuring correct allocation against projects
  • Processing of expenses onto the accounts system
  • Analysing time sheets for self-employed contractors and posting to the accounts system
  • Reviewing sub-contractor invoices to ensure retentions have been treated correctly
  • Dealing with payment enquiries
  • Reviewing key accounts to ensure they are kept within the agreed credit terms
  • Assisting with VAT returns prior to submission
  • Providing sub-contractor monthly returns
  • Reconciling supplier statements

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • AAT qualified
  • 2 years post qualification experience
  • Good knowledge of VAT
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proactive attitude
