Finance Assistant - Sales Ledger

MacKenzie King are working with a respected local business in Ipswich to recruit a Finance Assistant into their team. The Finance Assistant is responsible for the Purchase Ledger as well as assisting the Finance Manager with various administrative duties and to assist with the preparation of financial reports, as well as other duties related to the Finance department. This role would suit a Finance Assistant who has a high attention to detail and likes to take ownership of a role.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Ownership and monitoring of the sales ledger inbox.
  • Dealing with customer queries.
  • Raising daily, weekly, monthly, and rental sales invoices.
  • Credit control and chasing debt.
  • Daily bank reconciliations.
  • Preparation on the Monthly DD collection.
  • Assist with the preparation of KPI’s and key customer reports.
  • Processing incoming receipts from cash sales and payments in advance.
  • Assist with the maintenance of key accounting software.
  • Assist with ad-hoc requests from directors or senior management.
  • Cover purchase ledger and payroll for any leave and holidays.

  • Good organisational skills.
  • Has begun Level 2 AAT (or similar qualification) or higher, alternatively has experience operating as a part of a finance team.
  • Familiar with Sage 50 and Xero preferable.
