MacKenzie King are recruiting a Bookkeeper for a manufacturing company that have been in business for over 50 years, based on the outskirts of Ipswich. As a Bookkeeper you will have sole responsibility for the accounting function and ensure accurate and timely information is provided. The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously, off their own initiative, and be a strong communicator.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Responsible for all accounting areas in the Company including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, cash management and financial reporting, including monthly and quarterly statements
- Maintain and updates procedures and systems that control and fully account for revenues and expenses
- Liaise with Auditors to produce end of year accounts
- Responsible for the preparation of cash flow statements on a monthly basis
- Responsible for accounting and submission of VAT returns
- Responsible for placing and managing Forex contracts as required
- Perform the function of Credit Manager working with Credit insurers to minimise exposure
- Administer pension contributions for government pension scheme
Qualifications and experience
- Strong accounting systems experience, Microsoft Dynamics and Sage would be advantageous
- Good knowledge of Microsoft packages, in particular Excel
- A high attention to detail and good communication skills
- 5 years experience minimum in an all encompassing accounts role
