MacKenzie King are delighted to be recruiting for a Bookkeeper for a reputable business that are based in the outskirts of Colchester. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role has a broad remit and will see you involved in a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • To undertake general bookkeeping & Accounts preparation
  • Assist with the Monthly Management Accounts & Year End Accounts
  • Prepare and submit VAT Returns
  • Set up and maintain bookkeeping records
  • The maintenance and reconciliation of sales and purchase ledgers, providing debtor and creditor reports
  • To submit, process and pay staff expenses
  • Monitor and reconcile bank accounts on a weekly basis
  • Take calls and e-mails from customers with Accounts queries
  • Other adhoc duties as and when required

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience of bookkeeping to a similar level
  • AAT Qualified or relevant experience
  • Experienced using various accounting systems
  • Strong Microsoft Excel Skills (vlookups, pivot tables, formulae etc)
  • Be able to work confidently unsupervised, and as part of a team
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
