Autumn Executive Networking Lunches

23rd November 2018

This week saw the return of our Executive Networking Lunches. Once again, we hosted lunches at Suffolk Food Hall, Ipswich, and Little Channels, Chelmsford, which were attended by a wide variety of Senior Executives and the MacKenzie King team.

Both events were a huge success, and we’re pleased to report that this autumn’s events were our best attended so far! Over 80 executives were in attendance across the two days, enjoying the peer-to-peer networking opportunities provided at each lunch.

Of course, one of the highlights of our Executive Networking Lunches is the guest speaker. This year, we were lucky enough to have Lizzy Firmin, HR Director at Waddington Brown, talking about the impact of Organisational Development on profitability.

Lizzie Firman of Waddington Brown spoke to us about how Organisational Development can impact on profitability.

Lizzy Firmin of Waddington Brown spoke to us about how Organisational Development can impact on profitability.

Lizzy spoke about how small changes, and the engagement of the entire workforce, can make a big impact on how a company operates. Not only can the engagement of the entire team provide key insights into how an organisation can improve, but giving autonomy to team members at all levels can substantially increase profitability, especially in terms of better manage the working day and allowing new ideas to flourish.

Lizzy left us with two questions to ponder:

  • What is the focus of your business?
  • What changes can you make to implement greater autonomy?

These provided plenty of discussion over our (delicious!) three course lunches, and it also raised plenty of questions during the Q&A session of the talk! It’s safe to say that those in attendance came away with plenty to think about, in relation to both their own role within the company and how greater autonomy can be implemented at all levels within their organisation.

We hope that everyone that came along enjoyed the networking events, not only finding it a good opportunity to make connections with others, but also finding the Organisational Development talk interesting and thought provoking . We have certainly been overwhelmed with how successful this year’s networking events have been. Thank you to everyone that joined us at both venues, and we hope to see you again in the Spring of 2019!
